How to Clean Golf Grips | Golf Pride Grips
Hi – this is Evan from Golf Pride, and today, I’m going to show you how to clean your grips.
Oils from your hands, dirt, sunlight and hot or cold temperatures all contribute to grip wear over time, leading to slickness & reduced traction.
Keeping your grips clean will extend their life and provide more traction, helping you keep optimal grip pressure and control of the club throughout your swing. It’s a very simple & quick process that can have a major impact on your performance.
Cleaning your grips is simple. You only need a bucket or sink, soap, water, a soft brush or cleaning cloth, and a towel. Let’s get started.
Simply fill the bucket or start your faucet with warm water and mild dish soap…
Dip your brush in the soapy water and scrub your grip around each side…
Rinse your grip with clean water, and pat dry with a towel…
In less than 15 minutes, you can have your grips feeling like new again. You’re ready to go for that next round
I just bought some new irons with golf pride grips and I love them. They are girthy and good for people with big hands
Definitely plug the end of your grips with a golf tee. Water getting down that hole will lead to rust and eventual failure of your shaft.
so… clean it like the dishes 😂
The key here is mild dish soap if it changes the color of the water that’s too much to much soap and could just make them worse It’s stuff like this more amateur golfers could benefit from I can’t tell you how many times It cracks me up a when my friends who are still using 10 year old grips and on the face their grooves are filled with dirt and wonder why they can’t hold onto the club and why they have no spin an erratic shot shapes 😂
409 works well. I also use a super abrasive file to rough up the surface. It’s a wood file that has what I would call mini claws. Creates a real abrasive surface.
I want a all white grip that doesn’t slip like the tour wrap 2g. I have just got a full set and even in a range session inside they become slippery.
Thanks, Evan. Great video. These tips will definitely extend the life of GolfPride grips and make play more enjoyable and improve play. All my clubs GP. MCC PlusFour Midsize and SNSR 104 on my putter.
Hi Evan, would be great using my GripCaddie thanks
Hi Evan, could you provide a link to the brush that you use? Thank you for the video.
Love the colours on those grips!
Ok, am I missing something here… this is what actually everybody does… and it needs a video ??
Would have been of more interest showing well worn and soiled grips and how to bring them back to life, try using boiling water and a soap filled metal pad ( Brillo in UK), obviously for the mentally challenged dont scald yourself and wear rubber gloves.
